Whispers

Vancouver 11 14 11 014

Jessica sat there, looking pensively out over the water. It was nice to be here in the off season, when there was time to think without crowds of people vying for space.

Space … that was what she needed. Space to think … space to be herself. The waves were a bit rough today, and the wind was starting to kick up a bit. Just enough time to wander down the beach and check out the cove before high tide.

It looked the same as it always did … the steep wall of  rock, and the larger rocks along the shore that the waves were starting to rush over.

Time to start back. Her ears were ringing, and she didn’t want to be caught in an undertow. She was not ready to join him … not just yet. She had lured him there to create space for herself … she wasn’t quite ready to give that space up yet.
