Beth took a deep breath, and looked out over the water. She was sitting on her terrace. It was early, and the sun was pleasant on her skin. Later in the day, it would be too hot to sit out here, but now was now. She sipped her coffee, and nibbled on a croissant, allowing her mind to wander. She was happy that she had chosen this house, on the lake shore. So what if this was the middle of the desert, and the lake was man-made. She needed both – the healing quality of the water, and the warmth of the desert. Time for decisions to be made.
