Grandmother’s Candy Dish

flash fiction

Stepping through the door to the antique store was like stepping into another world. This was a discrete store – a throwback to another time. One was allowed to experience the treasures here at will.

Yes, it was still there. A lovely crystal candy dish … so like grandmother’s. What wonders had it held in its time? What stories had did it have to share? Had it been part of a problem, or part of a solution? Did it have a mind of its own, like grandmother’s candy dish did? Was it able to free people, like grandmother’s candy dish did?

Time to leave.
